Learning Area:          iDevelop- Maths
Key Competency:     Using Language, Symbols and Text
NZC AO:                     Level 2 Statistics:
gathering, sorting, and displaying category and whole-number data
Learning Observed
We are currently learning about Statistics in Maths.  The focus for this particular activity was to create a simple tally chart and gather data from other learners. Both learners were capable of working independently and were able to complete the task - Self management.  When working alongside Saniya, Gary noticed her tally marks were incorrect. He was able to articulate his thinking skills and share his knowledge so she was able to count the tally’s correctly- Gary developing his coaching capability and Saniya subsequently developing her tallying capability through practice. Our learners always enjoy the opportunity to connect and work with others.
Learner voice:  Saniya says, “I like Maths, I could do it all day”.
